On Saturday, July 29, 2023, The Salvation Army will partner with the Foothills Mall Walmart to host Back To School Child Spree, our annual, back-to-school shopping program for disadvantaged children in Tucson. This year’s event will host 130 less-fortunate youth, ranging in age from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Each child will receive a $130 gift card for new clothing and shoes at Walmart as well as a new backpack filled with essential school supplies!

We're currently seeking fun and energetic volunteers(18+)who are willing to donate their time to accompany students as they shop and help them make wise buying decisions. For only a few hours of your time, you can build a positive experience for a child that will last a lifetime!To be a part of this meaningful project, all volunteers (18+) MUST first complete the mandatory event forms to secure their volunteer spot.

PLEASE NOTE:

Volunteers MUST commit to arriving at 7:00 am on the event date for training purposes. Volunteer time commitment is approximately three hours. Please do not bring children with you to volunteer. Only volunteers (18+) who have submitted their paperwork and received a confirmation email from the Volunteer Coordinator will be allowed to participate!
